For Founder & CEO Lisa Sun, a lifetime of professional achievements and personal passions pointed in one direction: to the founding of Project Gravitas. A culmination of her love of fashion, career in the luxury lifestyle business, and steadfast commitment to helping others succeed, Project Gravitas was, to Lisa, simply inevitable.
Lisa spent 11 years at McKinsey & Company where she advised leading luxury, fashion, and beauty brands and retailers in the US, Asia, Europe, and Latin America on strategic and operational issues. Considered the firm’s top expert in the luxury and fashion space, Lisa published perspectives and gave keynote speeches at forums such as the American Express Luxury Summit. In many ways, Lisa “grew up” at McKinsey, being mentored by the firm’s best thinkers, learning from top executives, and having the privilege of leading teams of talented colleagues around the world.
Lisa has always had a passion for style and for helping people look and feel their best. Lisa has been a size 22, a size 8, and now proudly a size 12. At every size and age, she has found creative ways to show off her style; Lisa was named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s Best Dressed Women. Through Project Gravitas, she hopes to help women create lasting personal impact.
Lisa received degrees in Biology and Political Science with Distinction from Yale University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Key dresses in my life:
1995. A $99 velvet Charlotte Russe prom dress.
2006. A Narciso Rodriguez black boucle dress and blazer, my first designer piece. I had saved up to purchase it at Barneys, and I still wear it to this day.

Creative Director Deborah Norman has the enviable distinction of calling two cities home: London and New York. In New York, she began her design career in luxury product packaging but quickly moved into art direction, creating memorable ad campaigns for Bloomingdale's and Saks Fifth Avenue. In London, she was an early team member of Net-a-Porter, acting as editorial art director for the pioneering online retailer. Working in London on international luxury accounts at Grey Advertising, Deborah directed celebrity photo shoots — Sienna Miller and Jared Leto were favorites — that have appeared on billboards, taxis, and in stores and magazines around the world. Prior to joining Project Gravitas, Deborah returned to New York for a creative director position with Armani Exchange. Deborah was born on the little island of Bermuda to English parents. Earlier this year, she and her husband welcomed their first son.
A favorite dress: For my first art director job interview in New York, I wore a black Theory dress. I didn't get that job, but ended up getting an art director job with Bloomingdale’s.

Who better to ask what to wear on a 15-hour nonstop flight than Holly who returns frequently to South Africa, her onetime home and workplace. In Johannesburg, Holly worked on conservation and justice issues. After eight years, she returned to the States with her husband and 4 children and began board-level work with several NGOs on strategic planning and fundraising. Holly first honed her writing skills as an English major at Yale University. A federal clerkship following the University of Chicago Law School, and then litigation work in Washington, DC, kept her fingers on the keyboard. Holly now puts her talent to use at Project Gravitas, where she oversees Corporate Social Responsibility, including the monthly Women of Gravitas program. Holly and her family have explored every continent together, but her friends will tell you that, if she’s ever MIA, you’ll find her back in South Africa.
Most memorable dress: My first designer dress, for my rehearsal dinner at a country inn in the Catskills. It was very Gatsby and perfectly matched the moment – romantic and a little kinetic.

Susanna joined Project Gravitas a week before its launch, and throughout her time here she has played a role in almost all functions within the company - production, operations, and customer experience. Now, she leads marketing and is responsible for sharing the story of Project Gravitas with women across the country. Susanna hails from Haverford, PA and received a BA in History from Princeton University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Before coming to Project Gravitas, she worked in the field of public interest law, focusing on education & policy research.
A favorite dress: For spring formals in college, I wore a cream-colored, lace dress with long sleeves, accessorized with a bold turquoise statement necklace and cream pumps. It was the year of the royal wedding, and the dress made me feel as elegant and classy as Kate Middleton.
